Virginia Garcia, President

Is a lifetime resident of Sacramento, CA.  Is the foster mother of two teenage girls;   She also has two biological teenage daughters as well as guardianship of her teenage cousin. Virginia has an AA in Computer Business Administration and is currently pursuing a BA in Psychology.  Virginia’s passion is giving back to teenage girls. As a teen mom she experienced homelessness and abandonment.  This sparked her motivation to start the organization.
ShaLisa R. McCray, Secretary

A former Sacramento resident, currently residing in the East Bay. She has been an Administrative Assistant at Applied Materials & Engineering, Inc. for the past 6-1/2 years. Became a mom at 15 years old, and experienced many obstacles on the path to adulthood. She is currently pursuing a degree in Psychology as well as a degree in Business.   Aspires to start a Non-Profit Organization for at-risk youth and battered women as well open a group home and shelter.
Chantay Crawford, Education Coordinator

A student at Sacramento Charter High School . She is currently one of the leaders in Sacramento Charter High’s Student Senate.  Chantay also participates in Volleyball, Basketball, and many other leadership activities while also maintaining a 4.3 GPA.  She is an aspiring Doctor and with her drive and ambition will one day become a representative of  The  U.S. Senate.
Zena Ferrell, Treasurer

Resident of Sacramento for over 22 years.  Is very active in the community and has coached high school girls’ basketball for over 14 years.  Growing up in Oakland, CA, Zena always felt the need to give back to her community. She achieved her Bachelor of Arts at San Jose State University in Radio/T.V. Broadcasting, with a minor in Journalism. Zena has worked in the real estate industry for over 24 years.
Rita Bardwell, Fundraising Coordinator

A Legal Assistant at the Yuba Sutter Legal Center since 1998. She is also a notary, Small Claim Assistant and Information & Assistance specialist for individuals 60 and over. Her passion is to advocate and be involved in the community because she believes that one person can make a difference through a chain reaction.
Jill Pellerin, Editor

Born and raised in New Hampshire and obtained a Master of Arts in Teaching from University of New Hampshire.  She has been living in Sacramento for eight years and most recently taught English at Sacramento Charter High School.  Jill currently stays home to care for her two young sons and is extremely excited to be working with this organization.  As a relatively new mother herself, she understands the importance of having a solid support system and would like to do as much as she can to help create a safe haven for new moms.
